Although the major tournaments and their stars (International & National level) get most of the publicity, the great bulk of Duplicate Bridge is played in local clubs - Bridge clubs, Clubs like Madras & Mathunga Gymkhana, Social clubs-TNSC, Jubilee club, Clubs in Industry like Lakshmi Group of mills, BHEL, TVS, HCL, PHD-GPI, Railways, DSM, Tolani, Nalco, Kalpakkam, & very many other clubs, The winners in these events at the club level deserve recognition of their skill, since many of them may not play outside their home town

What is the benefit of comparing MP & IMP in Pairs?
You get to know of players' attitude - their nature of bidding and play and you can plan your strategy accordingly in either event in future.
A player , 12 yrs back, suggested to his captain sitting out a player stating he would not try for OT etc and suggested another player of better MP skill. This was in a T/4 swiss league final round. Opponents were IMP type -did all correctly and his team lost qualification. He later said his choice of player was wrong
